Kathmandu: The first meeting of the National Congress Representative Council of the Communist Party of Nepal (UML) will be held in Lalitpur from today.
Two thousand four hundred and fifty four people including members of the central committee, members of the central body, organizers and council members will participate in the two-day meeting. In the council meeting chaired by party president KP Oli, he will present political and general secretary Shankar Pokharel’s organizational report.
Rajendra Gautam, head of the party’s propaganda department, informed that reports will be presented on behalf of the Central Disciplinary Commission, Central Accounts Commission, Central Election Commission and Central Advisory Council at the meeting.
In the meeting, a detailed action plan will be presented for the year 2081 as the year of party purification and strengthening. The participants will give suggestions on the presented report and action plan.
Department head Gautam expressed the belief that the council meeting will guide the development of UML as a strong and decisive national force to ensure political stability, lasting peace, good governance and prosperity according to the country’s needs and people’s wishes.
After the council meeting on May 10, on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the establishment of the party, there is a program to honor the people who have contributed to the communist movement of Nepal with ‘Ganatantra Gaurav’.
