Kathmandu: The second national convention of Nepal Teachers Federation is starting today. Since there was no mutual agreement about the convention, one of the main constituents of the convention, the Nepal National Teachers’ Association, did not participate.
The organization has announced that it will not participate in the convention because the district committees have been announced in a one-party manner contrary to the constitution of the convention, and the proposal made by them in the meeting of the national committee to stop the convention has not been accepted.
The general secretary of the organization, Hans Bahadur Shahi, alleged that the renewal of the membership of the Maha Sangh, newly appointed teachers in schools, technical teachers were deprived of membership, and democratic methods were prohibited.
The general secretary of the Mahasangh, Lakshmishore Subedi, claimed that despite talks and dialogues at various stages, the organization backed away from the decision of the meeting that he also participated in.
