Inspector General Basant Bahadur Kunwar recently participated in the 19th Head of NCB Conference held in Lyon, France from April 24 to 26 organized by INTERPOL’s General Secretariat. Upon his return to Nepal, he was warmly welcomed by Additional Inspectors General s of Police, Deputy Inspector Generals of Police, and other senior police officials at the Tribhuvan International Airport. During the conference, international discussions focused on controlling transnational organized crime. Key topics included expanding access to I-24/7, sharing more criminal data, intercepting criminal proceeds, protecting children, and enhancing data protection.
At the conference, bilateral discussions took place with representatives from friendly nations such as India, China, and Malaysia. These discussions covered matters related to information sharing on criminal incidents, crime investigation, and capacity building for police personnel. The National Central Bureau (NCB) of Nepal, led by Inspector General Basant Bahadur Kunwar, actively participated in these exchanges, fostering cooperation and mutual support among nations.
Inspector General Kunwar left for the conference on April 23 and was accompanied by Superintendent of Police Rabindra Bahadur Singh.
