The event which celebrates the achievements of the graduates and signifies their transition from one phase of their lives to the next makes a remarkable journey in Anu Shrestha’s life from Nepal to Australia. It reached a significant milestone today as she graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Information System from Australian Institute of Higher Education, located at Townhall, Sydney. Her story is one of resilience, determination, and triumph over numerous challenges.
The Beginning of a New Chapter
Five years ago, Anu left her home in Nepal with a dream of pursuing higher education in Australia. Coming from a humble background, she knew the road ahead would be tough, but she was determined to succeed. Her father, Bhalraj Shrestha, mother, Sita Shrestha, and sister, Supriya Shrestha, supported her decision wholeheartedly, despite the emotional and financial strains.
Embracing Challenges
Upon her arrival in Sydney, Anu settled in Auburn, NSW. Balancing her studies with part-time work to fund her education, she faced the challenges of adapting to a new culture and academic environment. Despite these hurdles, Anu remained focused and dedicated. She also took on a leadership role in the Gospel Nepali Church, contributing and finding a sense of belonging.
Academic Success
Anu’s hard work and perseverance paid off as she excelled in her studies at Australian Institute of Higher Education. Her academic journey was marked by countless hours of study, dedication, and the support of her family, friends and mentors. Today, her efforts culminated in a proud moment as she received her Bachelor’s degree in Business Information System.
The Graduation Ceremony
The graduation ceremony was held at the historic Sydney Town Hall, a fitting venue for such a momentous occasion. Out of the 147 students eligible to attend, many were absent due to various reasons, but the hall was still filled with excitement and pride. Anu’s parents made the long journey from Nepal to celebrate this special day with her, and they were joined by Pastor Jeewan Rayamajhi’s family, who have been a source of support and encouragement.

The ceremony was a jubilant celebration of achievement, marked by the joy and pride of students and their families. Anu stood tall, reflecting on her journey and the obstacles she had overcome. Her story is an inspiration to many youths, a testament to the power of resilience and the pursuit of dreams. She gave all credit to GOD, her family, church community, and all her supporters.
