Kathmandu – A tragic plane crash involving Saurya Airlines has resulted in the deaths of 18 individuals. The Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) has confirmed that 18 people have lost their lives, and one person has been injured.
According to a press release from CAAN’s Search and Rescue Coordination Center, the fire has been brought under control, and 18 bodies have been recovered from the site.
The 9N-AME CRJ-7 aircraft was en route from Kathmandu to Pokhara when it crashed within the airport premises earlier this morning. The plane was carrying 19 people, including crew members.
Captain Manish Shakya was piloting the aircraft. He was rescued from the crash site and has been taken to KMC Hospital in Sinamangal for treatment.
