Auburn, Sydney – Jeetendra Shrestha, the President of the Auburn Nepali Community, recently reviewed the Teej Fair organized by the community and announced that the event was a great success. The fair, which took place yesterday, saw participation from around 400 people, with approximately 80% women and 20% men. The event featured special performances by renowned artists Pashupati Sharma and Devi Gharti Magar. Additionally, local artists, including Shusma Rana Karki, delivered outstanding dance performances.
Shrestha credited the success of the fair to the dedicated volunteers, acknowledging that their tireless efforts and support played a crucial role in bringing the event to this level. He expressed heartfelt gratitude to the volunteers and everyone who attended, noting that the success was made possible by the unity of the entire Nepali community.
President Shrestha also extended a warm welcome and thanks to several distinguished guests, including NRNA Regional Coordinator Mr. Dinesh Pokhrel, Ashok Uprety (Founder President of Auburn Nepalese Community), Rabindra Kumar Sharma (Past President of Auburn Nepalese Community), Raj Kumar Shrestha (Advisor of Auburn Nepalese Community), and Mr. Dilli Dhakal (NRNA ICC Member). He also like to thank his core members Ayush adhikari, Uddhav Pokhrel, Reshma Dhakal, Roshan Khatiwoda, Arun shrestha and Heman Lamichane and whole ANC TEAM members for this especial events. Furthermore, President Shrestha expressed deep gratitude to other dignitaries who graced the event with their presence, including the newly appointed Honorary Consulate of Nepal to NSW, Mr. Sanjeeb Sharma; the Mayor of Cumberland Council, Lisa Lake; the President of the Non-Resident Nepali Association of Australia (NRNA), Mr. Anil Pokhrel; and Duty Officer Paul Stamoulis from Auburn Police Area Command.
The event was a remarkable success, reflecting the active engagement and unity of the Urban Nepali Community. Shrestha concluded by noting that further reviews of the event will be conducted in the coming weeks, with future plans to build on this success.
