“Badri Pangeni Honored in Sydney”

Sydney, Australia – Renowned Nepali singer Badri Pangeni was honored during a special event in Australia. On Monday, Pangeni was recognized with a ceremonial scarf (khada) and a letter of appreciation at an event held at the ‘Flavors of Nepal’ restaurant in Granville, Sydney.

Pangeni, a celebrated singer of folk and duet songs, has made his mark with numerous popular songs, including “Sasuralima.” On the occasion of the Teej festival, Pangeni, along with other Nepali artists, visited Australia and performed in various cities, further increasing his popularity among the Nepali diaspora.

At the event, Pangeni entertained the audience by performing some of his famous songs. The program was attended by notable guests, including senior journalist Hemant Kafle, journalist Rajan Ghimire, the president of the Naya Association Bipin Thapa, the president of Jhapa Society Australia Ashok Upreti, and the regional coordinator of NRNA Australia Dinesh Pokhrel. The honor was jointly presented to Pangeni by Rajesh KC, the head of Flavors of Nepal, and Dinesh Pokhrel.

Speaking at the ceremony, Pangeni expressed his delight at the enthusiasm shown by the Nepali community for cultural programs in Australia, stating, “Being here and performing feels like being back in Nepal, and it has been a very enjoyable experience.”

Rajesh KC, the restaurant’s owner, mentioned, “Our restaurant has become a common platform for hosting cultural events for the Nepali community. I encourage everyone to come and taste our cuisine at least once.”

The event, marked by the honoring of singer Pangeni, was seen as an effort to strengthen the bonds within the Nepali community in Sydney.
