Zenith Migration Education

Sydney, Australia — Daylight Saving has been implemented in Sydney, Australia from October 5, 2024. This change moves clocks forward 1 hour in New South Wales (NSW), Victoria, Tasmania, and South Australia. This system helps people take advantage of the extra hours of daylight, making the most of daylight hours during the summer months.

Daylight saving was started by Germany in 1916. Since then many countries have adopted this system. More than 70 countries have adopted it so far, including the US, Canada, New Zealand, and some European countries. However, in some countries this system is not used. For example, India, China, and some countries in Africa have not implemented it.

The main objective of this system is to reduce electricity consumption by making full use of daylight hours. The system is expected to boost business, tourism and social activities. However, some have argued that it can have a negative effect on health by affecting the biological clock.

International Daylight Savings Practices
– US: Most states follow it.
– Europe: Most European countries apply this system, although some have recently proposed to abolish it.New Zealand: This system, which applies from October to March, also makes the days longer in New Zealand.
