Sydney – Narayan Shastri, who has dedicated his life to social services in Sydney, was born in Gulmi district and currently resides in Belsundi, Dang. With a deep interest in religious education and social work, he completed his early education in Dang. After earning the title of Shastri from Mahendra Sanskrit University, he continued his studies in India at Banaras, Jyotish Sansthan, and Shantikunj Haridwar, where he also gained knowledge in Ayurveda and homeopathic medicine.
He says, “Dedicating my heart and soul to social service is the true purpose of my life.” This sentiment is reflected not only in his work but also in the love and trust he has earned from the community. Shastri has been actively serving in social, religious, and cultural sectors in Nepal and on various international platforms. He is an active member of the All World Gayatri Parivar and is also responsible for the management of Mukti Guldarsh Temple in Dang.
His services are not limited to Nepal. Shastri has traveled to countries like China, Thailand, Indonesia, and Malaysia, participating in spiritual gatherings and spreading messages of peace and spirituality. Under his leadership, the Shanti Youth Club in Dang has been engaging youths in positive activities.
Even after moving to Australia, he has remained actively involved in religious activities within the Nepali community. He currently serves as the president of the Nath Yogi and Aditya Nath Foundation. Shastri says, “Social service is not just financial support; it is the dedication of mind, intellect, and soul.”
