Kathmandu – The Supreme Court has upheld the conviction of Gandaki Provincial Assembly member Dipak Manange in an attempted murder case. On Tuesday, a bench comprising Justices Dr. Nahakul Subedi and Tek Prasad Dhungana confirmed the decision previously made by the Patan High Court.
In 2021, the Patan High Court sentenced Manange to five years in prison. He and his associates were accused of attempting to murder Chakre Milan in an attack dating back to 2004.
After the Patan High Court’s decision, Manange appealed to the Supreme Court, seeking to overturn the conviction. However, according to spokesperson Kuinkel, the Supreme Court rejected Manange’s appeal, affirming the five-year prison sentence imposed by the High Court.
