Sydney, Australia – The Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has established an ad hoc central committee in Australia under its Foreign Affairs Department. A virtual meeting held on Sunday via Zoom saw the formation of a 21-member committee with the participation of RSP Vice President Dr. Swarnim Waglé, central members Hari Dhakal and Shobita Gautam, spokesperson Manish Jha, and Secretary of the Foreign Affairs Department Padmaraj Panthi. Dr. Krishna Prasad Paudel has been appointed as the coordinator of the newly formed committee.
In the committee formation ceremony, members expressed a commitment to unite Nepalis living abroad to contribute toward national prosperity. Dr. Krishna Prasad Paudel was selected as coordinator, Nirajan Thapa as vice coordinator, Ganesh Paudel as secretary, and Kamal Timilsina as treasurer. Other members include Amul Regmi, Bishnu Thapa, Mamta Adhikari Thapa, Gopi Kumar Thapa, Deep Kumar Giri, Dutta Malla, Sanam Raut, Surendra Puri, Sumit Ratna Bajracharya, Shambhu Puri, Cyril Dangol, Deependra Upreti, Bishnu Raj Mahat, Abedang Tamang, Navin Basnet, Netra Prasad Paudel (Upadhyaya), and Tohingso Hyang Rai.
In addition, MP Hari Dhakal from Chitwan Constituency No. 1 engaged directly with the Nepali community in Sydney to discuss Nepal’s political and economic situation. The event saw remarks from Anil Pokharel, president of NRNA Australia; Dr. Gyanendra Regmi, president of NADF; Ramesh Joshi, president of ONF; Dr. Binod Shrestha, vice president of NRNA Global; former NRNA president Nandu Gurung; Chaturbhuj Kharel, president of the Southwest Nepalese Community; and senior community leaders Buddhi Dallakoti and Kshiring Sherpa, among others.
NRNA Australia president Anil Pokharel extended his congratulations to the new committee and requested MP Dhakal to address the challenges faced by the Nepali Embassy in Australia due to a lack of resources, as well as to bring up other issues faced by the diaspora in Parliament.
