The Sydney-Strathfield Nepali Community organized its annual year-end program on December 15, 2024. The event was graced by the active participation of students, parents, grandparents, and community members, making it a grand success. Held with the aim of promoting Nepali language, culture, and education, the program celebrated the educational and cultural achievements of the younger generation.
The main highlight of the program was the distribution of certificates to students of the weekly Nepali Community School. These certificates recognized and honored their efforts in learning the Nepali language and culture.
The active participation of parents and grandparents reinforced the belief in the importance of passing down traditions to the next generation, ensuring a strong cultural connection for years to come.
During the event, a meeting with parents was held to discuss the educational progress of children and plans for improvement. One of the key agenda items was the proposal to establish a large Nepali Community School in the Strathfield area. This school aims to provide the second generation of children with knowledge of the Nepali language, culture, and traditions.
The president of the Strathfield Nepali Community, Santosh Neupane, stated, “This program has united community members and further inspired us to preserve our identity and traditions. With new plans to be implemented in 2025, we aim to move forward even more effectively.”
At the end of the program, participants enjoyed traditional Nepali cuisine and exchanged New Year 2025 greetings.
The organizers expressed their gratitude to the Strathfield Council for providing space for the weekly Nepali classes and financial support for 2024. This support has played a crucial role in enhancing the effectiveness of Nepali community activities.
