Sydney: Aiming to strongly represent the Nepali Christian community in Sydney, Australia, the Nepalese Christian Society Australia (NCSA) has been formed. Previously operating under the name Sydney Nepali Christian Community (SNCC), the group has decided to rename itself and initiate the registration process as a formal organization. During a meeting held on Sunday at the United Nepali Christian Church in Liverpool, the organization not only changed its name but also elected an 11-member executive committee.
Vijay Kumar Shrestha has been elected as the President, while Rudra Paudel and Pastor Anish Rimal have been appointed as Vice Presidents. Tej Prajapati has been selected as the General Secretary, Pastor Kedar (Jivan) Rayamajhi as the Secretary, Logan Kunwar as the Treasurer, and Ezekiel Lama as the Deputy Treasurer. The committee members include Pastor Anil Shrestha, Vinay Kumar Sinchuri, and Santosh Nepali, while Bishnu Khatri will serve as an Advisor. The organization aims to work for the rights and welfare of Nepalis and the Nepali Christian community in Australia. According to President Shrestha, NCSA will not represent any particular denomination or interfere in the internal affairs of any church.
Instead, it plans to collaborate with other organizations that share similar objectives, such as INFA, to better organize and support the community. To discuss future strategies and action plans, the next meeting has been scheduled for March 9, 2025, at Sydney Nepali Church in Auburn.
